hummingbird hawk moth

I snapped this monster in my back yard. This is the unofficial spring watch.
The Hummingbird Hawk-moth is distributed throughout the Northern Hemisphere from Spain to Japan, but is resident only in warmer climates (Spain, Portugal, Italy, Greece, Turkey, North Africa and points east). It is strongly migratory and can be found virtually anywhere in the hemisphere in the summer. However it rarely survives the winter in northern latitudes (e.g. north of the Alps in Europe, north of the Caucasus in Russia, etc.).

swallow

They say one swallow doesn't make a summer!?

sand dunes

I love druridge bay its the most spectacular beach i think i have ever seen. I never get tired of going and taking silly photos from the dunes.

smells like teen spirit

This is a picture of Laura's wooden budda. A budda is any being who has become fully awakened (enlightened), and has experienced Nirvana? Smells like teen spirit?

celery & onion

Did you know Celery contains androsterone, a hormone released through sweat glands said to attract women? bizzare.

Evidence suggests that onions may be effective against the common cold, heart disease, diabetes, osteoporosis, and other diseases. They contain anti-inflammatory, anticholesterol, anticancer, and antioxidant components such as quercetin.

barbed wire

This barbed wire did'nt look that dangerous close up, its made a nice little home for a spider.

kite

This multi coloured flying beauty was captured over Druridge Bay in Northumberland. At first i could not see the colour of the kite due to the sun although i think its turned out quite nice.

flower power

I bought some flowers for easter and decided to catch an extrme close up off the centre of this white flower (again not sure)http://www.flowerguide.com/

war case

This was my grandads old case from ww2 from when he was posted Asia. Its been in the family ever since, we used to keep toy trains in it when i was a child.

This metal case is now in its retirement and only stores spare bedding

winter soup

Well i know it doesn't look like soup at the moment i was just preparing it.

I roasted all the veg then zapped it in the food mixer for a while. Very tasty and it keeps you regular.

lighthouse

Ok so its not a photo. Its a picture i made using "paint".

The lighthouse represents hope and the sea is a proven adversary. Yeah of course it does!! i did it when i was bored!!!

spring's sprung

I am unsure of the tree in this picture (maybe someone can help?) This was taken on the fell at the beginning of April, the first truly warm day of 2007

Chilli's are one of my favorite foods in the whole world. And they look the bees knees too. Remind me to tell you the chilli story sometime

rooftops

No i have not been scurrying over people's rooftops
this is the view out of my loft (i love my loft) or so Laura says. In the distance you can see the beginning of the fell.

swan

I took this picture at Rainton Meadows in Durham.
Did you know a swan is capable of breaking a mans arm? I would love to meet anyone who has a a limb broken by a swan. "I wonder if there is a club"?

orange

I get obsessed with taking random photos, just another example of the orange tree. when we bought the orange tree i thought it would never last, however i have been proven wrong its over a year old and has produced a harvest of small and very tangy fruits!!

eye of the beholder

This was one of the first photo's i took with my new camera. I love the way the actual camera is visible in my pupil.
